Monday to Friday 10.30am - 4.30pm                 Saturday 10am - 1.00pm.

Unless otherwise stated, admission charges for the exhibitions only are: Adults £1.00

Talk on 'The Life and Times of Loco 1422'

'The Life and Times of Loco 1442' talk on Friday 1st May.

Railway historian Amyas Crump will be marking the 80th Birthday of the Tivvy Bumper with an illustrated talk examining where Loco 1442 worked, focusing on the local lines around the Exe Valley and the Culm Valley.

Doors open 7pm, talk starts at 7:30 at the Museum. Tickets £4.50, including light refreshments.

Tivvy Bumper 80th Birthday Celebrations

Join us for a fun day at the museum with working model railway displays (including Culm Valley Model railway Club's layout of Uffculme Station), family activities - badge making, make a key-ring, decorate a Bumper biscuit, colouring in and a trail! Normal admission applies.

 


Barney's Bunch May

Barney's Bunch 2-5's group is meeting on Wednesday 13th May with a Farm Animals theme. 

All sessions run 1.30-2.30. £2 per child/£1.50 members (admission charge does not apply). Come along and explore the museum through different themes each month with  stories, games and crafts. Please call or email education@tivertonmuseum.org.uk to book a place.

Coach trip to Whitchurch Silk Mill and Bombay Sapphire Gin Distillery.

Wednesday 20th May. Traditional silk spinning and weaving—full guided tour and light buffet lunch. The afternoon spent in the award winning Distillery which opened in October 2014. Full guided tour, free cocktail (or soft drink), amazing botanical glass house and shop. £38 p/p all inclusive with a light lunch, or £31 without lunch (picnic area available). Cine Star Archive Films present amateur films of life in the 1920s and 1930s, including farming scenes and more!

Craft activities in May Half Term

26 May 2015

We will be running craft activities on Tuesday 26th May.  Sessions run 11:00 to 12:30 and 2:00 to 3:30. More details to follow soon!

Booking essential (places are limited, £2.50 per child (50p discount on family craft  activities for members of the museum). Call the Museum or email education@tivertonmuseum.org.uk for information.     

 


Print Making Workshops

Print Making Workshops at the museum on  Wednesday 27th May, 11am - 4pm. FREE with normal admission!

Family Drop-In session—have a go at printmaking and help make a large banner commemorating Tiverton in World War One. Most suitable for over 7's but younger helpers are welcome. Children need to bring an adult who would like to join in with the fun!

Beards Bonnets and Bicycles

27 June 2015

A temporary exhibition featuring original photographic portraits from the museum's collection. This is a light hearted exhibition which invites you to look closely at the fashions, hairstyles and beards sported in these photographs. Family friendly with dressing up corner. 

On until 27th June. Entry is just £1, and accompanied kids go FREE! (For visitors with a full admission ticket entry to this exhibition is free).
