Monday to Friday 10.30am - 4.30pm                 Saturday 10am - 3pm.

Bookbinding Workshop with Sarah Hotchkiss

A wonderful opportunity to create your own book from scratch. Learn how to stitch and fold to create your own creative treasure. Bring photos, tickets and paper keepsakes along to start to fill your book with precious memories, or focus on the bookbinding and cover for you to fill as you please in the future. 
No experience necessary, perfect for beginners or those with basic experience.
All materials provided.

Create a drawstring bag, hair bow, phone case, felt badge or P.E. bag using hand-stitching, embroidery and our vintage hand-crank sewing machine.

Deeds or Words? Talk by Julia Neville

Deeds or Words? Devon Suffrage Activists and the growth of militancy in the Votes for Women campaign.
Dr Julia Neville was part of the Devon History Society Devon Suffrage Activits project in 2017-18, looking at the distinctive nature of the movement in Devon. In this talk she reflects on what happened after the failure of the Conciliation Committee in 1911 and how the movement in Devon split over the issue of militancy.

Fragments of Time; A Collection of Prints

Artists attending the print club based at Tiverton Museum are pleased to be able to show a range of prints that explore the museum collections. 
Printmaking is often a process of changing and adapting our visula world, creating abstracts and fragmentations. For this exhibition members of the print club have taken the museum collection and explore a range of ideas including societal change, weights and balances, domestic memories and changes in farming. 

Friday 6th September to Tuesday 1st October. 
Free admission.

Odette

08 November 2019

In this illustrated talk Amyas Crump explores Odette, known to many as a wartime heroine, as a local mother of three young girls, her love of the Blackdown Hills and life away from wartime France. 

There will also be a small display of memoribilia and some copies of the latest book on Odette available.
