The museum is open!
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we were closed for 5 months. We’ve launched an emergency appeal as we’re dependent on our admission income and have limited cash reserves. You can donate by clicking here.
We recommend pre-booking. Please see our Visitor Information page for our new opening times and booking information.

Reminiscence Therapy

We are currently reviewing our Reminiscence Therapy offering. An update will follow. In the meantime please contact Pippa Griffith on curator04@tivertonmuseum.org.uk

A way to remember: reminiscence therapy has been shown to aid cognitive function, encourage memory recall and improve the health and well being of older people and those suffering with dementia.

Tiverton Museum offers Reminiscence Therapy to residential and care homes and for memory groups. The sessions are delivered by trained staff and volunteers using themed boxes of objects, magazines and photographs.

The themes of the boxes are:

  1. Childhood
  2. Home Sweet Home
  3. Working Week
  4. School days
  5. Saturday Night Out
  6. Celebrations and Jubilations
  7. Keep the Home Fires Burning (WW2)
  8. We’re All Going on a Summer Holiday
  9. Hobbies
  10. Farming

The sessions can be booked individually or as a set of sessions. Charges start at £40.
