Reminiscence Therapy

A way to remember: reminiscence therapy has been shown to aid cognitive function, encourage memory recall and improve the health and well being of older people and those suffering with dementia.

Tiverton Museum offers Reminiscence Therapy to residential and care homes and for memory groups. The sessions are delivered by trained staff and volunteers using themed boxes of objects, magazines and photographs.

The themes of the boxes are:

  1. Childhood
  2. Home Sweet Home
  3. Working Week
  4. School days
  5. Saturday Night Out
  6. Celebrations and Jubilations
  7. Keep the Home Fires Burning (WW2)
  8. We’re All Going on a Summer Holiday
  9. Hobbies
  10. Farming

The sessions can be booked individually or as a set of sessions. Charges start at £40. Please contact Holly Jarrett, Education & Outreach Officer at the museum on 01884 256295 or
