Tourist Information Service recognised again!

by | 15th February 2019

Following their success at the Visit Devon Tourism Awards back in November, where they picked up the Bronze award for Visitor Information Service of the Year for the second year running, staff at Tiverton’s Tourist Information Service were delighted to be put forward for the South West Tourism Excellence Awards. Being awarded Highly Commended in this category up against some really top notch services such as Dartmoor National Park Visitor Centres, Woolacombe & Mortehoe Tourism Information Centre, and Isles of Scilly Tourist Information Centre (who were also awarded Highly Commended) is a huge honour. Many of these services operate in some of the more traditionally popular tourist areas so to be recognised amongst them is a real privilege and the services hopes it will shine a light on Mid Devon and all it has to offer to tourists. Visitor Information Officer Carrie Thomas says ‘the award is a reflection of the hard work of our volunteers, people who are passionate about the area they live in and want to share that joy and their knowledge with our visitors’.
