Nominations are now open for the Kids in Museums Family Friendly Museum Award 2019.
Charity Kids in Museums awards the prize annually to one museum, gallery, historic home or heritage site in the UK that goes the extra mile to provide a great experience for families. The prestigious award is now in its 14th year. Tiverton Museum has reached the long list twice before, in 2015 and in 2012.
This is a brilliant opportunity for us to shout about what we are doing for families at Tiverton Museum. The museum always offers family friendly activities including explorer backpacks (aimed at children under 7’s and over 7’s), quizzes, time detective passport, gallery activities and play areas. We also run an annual exhibitions or trail aimed at families over the summer, as well as children’s craft activities in school holidays.
If you would like to support us and share why you think Tiverton Museum is great for families, please nominate us on the Kids in Museums website: www.kidsinmuseums.org.uk/awards
We are also collecting feedback from visitors via a form at the museum too.
The deadline for nominations is noon on 31 May 2019.
In June an expert panel will whittle down the nominations to a shortlist. Undercover family judges will then visit each shortlisted museum and assess them on how well they meet the Kids in Museums Manifesto. The winner will be revealed at an awards ceremony in October.
