Tiverton Museum of Mid Devon Life is delighted to have been awarded £4,000 in core funding from Devon Community Foundation through the Frankpitt Family Fund to help cover essential running costs. This grant will support the museum’s work celebrating local heritage with the local community, including services like our schools’ programme and our reminiscence service which is used by local care and residential homes. The museum engages with over 75 primary schools each year with schools through on site workshops, in school activities and a loan box service.
The Museum is a cornerstone of cultural heritage, community engagement, and education in the heart of Devon. For over 60 years, the Museum has preserved and celebrated the rich history of Tiverton and the surrounding region, bringing stories of the past to life for future generations.
Commenting on the award, Pippa Griffith, Museum Director said: “We greatly appreciate the support from the Devon Community Foundation, particularly as it is very difficult to obtain grant support for core costs. As costs continue to rise, this grant really helps us meet current budgets whilst we plan for the future development of the museum.”
