Discover the local roots of one of the Victorian era’s most iconic authors in Blackmore’s Tiverton, a special exhibition marking 200 years since the birth of R.D. Blackmore, former pupil at Blundell’s School and author of the much-loved novel Lorna Doone.
In partnership with Blundell’s School, the exhibition features objects, prints and photographs drawn from both the museum and school archives.
Learn about Blackmore’s time at Blundell’s, explore 19th-century life in Tiverton, and uncover how the town and school inspired parts of his famous Exmoor tale.
Blundell’s School and Tiverton Museum have drawn from both of their archives to create this exhibition in partnership to celebrate 200 years of R.D. Blackmore.
