Please help us to preserve our historic building! We have a fundraising target of £15,500 to cover urgent work to our roof.

As we prepared to re-open to the public following the national lockdown, we were dismayed at the discovery that all of the coping stones on one gable end of the old school building need to be replaced as soon as possible by specialist stone masons. Since the museum took over the building in 1969, a huge amount of work has taken place to care for the former National School, which is Grade II listed and is within Tiverton’s Conservation Area.

We need public donations to help us meet the costs as it follows a very challenging 14-month period during which the museum has been mostly closed due to the pandemic. Any donation that you can make will help us to repair the historic roof, and ensure the long term preservation of one of Tiverton’s important buildings.
